IPL 2025 Auction Day 1 Highlights: Pant To LSG For INR 27 Cr, Iyer To PBKS For 26.75 Cr - Check Remaining Purse, All Players Sold And Unsold

The bids on Rishabh Pant could well soar like his audacious no-look six at Perth as he seems poised to become the highest paid player among the 577 who will go under the hammer at the two-day IPL mega auction starting on Sunday. There will be INR 641.5 crores cumulatively in the kitty of 10 teams with 204 possible slots to be filled but one can be rest assured that all eyes will be trained on Pant's name when it comes up.

The Indian Premier League 2025 Mega Auction will start from 3:00 PM IST on both November 24 and 25.

The IPL 2025 Mega Auction will be telecast on Star Sports Network tv channels. The event will be streamed live on JioCinema app and website.

While 46 players have been retained by the 10 IPL teams, including 10 foreigners, 577 players remain up for grabs, which include 210 overseas players. On the first day of the IPL 2025 auction 84 players will go under the hammer (Sunday, November 24). The auction starts at 3.30 PM IST, 1 PM local time.

"Right-to-Match" (RTM) option is back in focus at the IPL 2025 auction -- a strategic mechanism that allows teams to retain key players in a unique way. RTM grants franchises the ability to reclaim certain players during the auction, instead of retaining them directly in advance. Read more about the strategy HERE.

*In a recent advisory note from the BCCI they said, "Raising of RTM bid can be any amount -- doesn't have to be a rounded figure." There are 14 RTM cards available among the 20 franchises.

The IPL auctions have set new records with the highest bid for a player and the 2025 edition could be no less. With several Indian and international stars entering the mix, records could be broken at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The auction will begin with the Marquee Lots, followed by lunch. Next up are the Capped Batters, All-Rounders, and Wicketkeepers. After a 15-minute break, the Capped Bowlers will go under the hammer, followed by another short 10-minute break. Day 1 will conclude with the first Uncapped Players set, featuring seven players. Big names will include Faf du Plessis, Kane Williamson, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, etc

There are a total of 12 marquee players divided into two sets of six each.

All marquee players have a base price of INR 2 crore with the exception of David Miller who has a base price of INR 1.5 crore.

RR steps in to book Jofra at INR 11 Crores. The bidding war continues as the price soars past INR 11 Crores. MI push the price further with INR 12.25 Crores, but RR fight back, raising the bid to INR 12.50 Crores. And Jofra Sold To Rajasthan at INR 12.50 Cr.

Khaleel Ahmed is sold to CSK for INR 4.80 Crores.

Starting at a base price of INR 2 Crores, CSK make the opening bid, with LSG joining the fray. The bidding conclude at INR 4.80 Crores, with CSK securing Khaleel. DC has the RTM option but chooses not to use it.

T. Natarajan is sold to DC for INR 10.50 Crores.

Starting with a base price of INR 2 Crores, SRH open the bidding, followed by RCB at INR 2.20 Crores. After a persistent battle, pushing the price past INR 4 Crores. Delhi Capitals enter the fray with a bid of INR 6.75 Crores and finally seals the deal at INR 10.50 Crores.

As anticipated, New Zealand pacer Trent Boult sparks intense bidding before being sold to Mumbai Indians for INR 12.50 Crores.

Rajasthan Royals open the bidding at INR 2 Crores, with Lucknow Super Giants quickly joining the fray. Gujarat Titans then enter the race at INR 6.50 Crores.

However, at the end Mumbai Indians raise the stakes surpassing RR's 12.25 Cr to seal the deal.

In a thrilling bidding war, Rashid Khan was finally sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for INR 6 crore, the highest bid in the uncapped players' set.

The bidding opened with RCB at INR 30 lakh, but Sunrisers Hyderabad quickly stepped in but pulled out at 2 Crores. Delhi Capitals exercised their RTM option, but RCB escalated the bid to INR 6 crore, forcing DC out of the race.

RCB Batting coach, Dinesh Karthik Reaction:

On Jitesh Sharma, DK said: He is a very explosive middle-order batsman. We wanted someone who is on the fringes of the Indian team and he is right there. .... He comes as a very, very good option.

On Phil Salt, DK said: Phil Salt, what have I got to say? He is explosive. He is someone who can take on in the power play. Great attitude. Nice guy to have around in the team. Everything about him says he is the kind of guy that RCB would love to have.
