The student wing of the CPI(M), Students' Federation of India (SFI), has called a march to the West Bengal assembly on Friday to protest against the “dismal condition and corruption” in the state’s education system.
?? ?
SFI state president Pratikur Rahaman said that the organisation is also demanding that elections in colleges and universities be held.
?? ?
"The state's education system has collapsed in the 12 years of the TMC rule. The TMC has brought jungle raj into the education system, where you will find corruption, muscle power, and nepotism. The campus elections have not been held for several years," he told PTI on Wednesday.
?? ?
Rahman claimed that the TMC is afraid of conducting elections in universities and is using a nexus of corruption and muscle power to rule the roost in colleges.
?? ?
He said that two rallies, one from Sealdah in central Kolkata and another from the northern part of the city, would march towards the state assembly on March 10.?
?? ?
West Bengal's education system has been in the headlines for the last few months following the arrests of several TMC leaders for their alleged involvement in the teachers' recruitment scam.
