As part of his schedule, Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation during the high-level week at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, underlining India's commitment to the Global South. This commitment takes shape in the form of a special event titled 'India-UN for Global South: Delivering for Development,' reinforcing India's dedication to the development of nations in the southern hemisphere, PTI reported.?

During his stay in New York from September 22 to 26, Jaishankar will actively participate in various plurilateral and bilateral meetings. Additionally, he is set to engage in discussions with key figures, including UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Dennis Francis, President of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly.

The highlight of his visit to New York is his scheduled address at the high-level session of the 78th UNGA, which is planned for the forenoon of September 26, offering India's perspective on global issues.

Following the conclusion of his UNGA-related engagements, Jaishankar will proceed to Washington DC, where he will engage in essential bilateral meetings with his American counterparts, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken. He will also have discussions with senior members of the US administration, prominent business leaders, and think tanks, fostering diplomatic ties and international cooperation.

In a diverse cultural exchange, Jaishankar will take part in the fourth World Culture Festival organized by the Art of Living during his stay in Washington, further showcasing India's rich cultural heritage on the global stage.
