A week after police-led violence on Jamia Millia Islamia students triggered nationwide outrage, the people have been on the streets protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). At least 16 people have died over the last two days in Uttar Pradesh in incidents during the anti-CAA protests. On Sunday, the protests continued against the controversial law even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Delhi's Ramlila Maidan.

8;00 PM:?As many as?48 people have been arrested and 67 shops sealed in connection with violent protests in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar last week during which several persons, including over a dozen policemen, were injured and vehicles gutted.

7:10 PM:?Curfew imposed in some parts of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh after violence during Friday protests was relaxed?on Sunday?for seven hours from 1 pm, police said.
