As the anticipation builds for Johan Renck's upcoming sci-fi drama "Spaceman," Netflix has treated fans to an exclusive first look, offering a glimpse into the intriguing world of the film. Starring the dynamic trio of Adam Sandler, Carey Mulligan, and Paul Dano, "Spaceman" is set to premiere on the streaming platform on March 1.

The official synopsis for "Spaceman" sets the stage for an emotionally charged and mysterious journey: "Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Adam Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. Hanu? (voiced by Paul Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late."

"Spaceman" also features Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini, promising a captivating ensemble performance.

The script for "Spaceman" was penned by Colby Day, adapting the narrative from the 2017 novel "Spaceman of Bohemia" by Czech author Jaroslav Kalfa?. Executive producers include Ben Ormand, Johan Renck, and Barry Bernardi. The film's producers include Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan, Michael Parets, Tim Headington, Lia Buman, and Max Silva.

Johan Renck, acclaimed for his directorial role in the HBO historical drama miniseries "Chernobyl," brings his storytelling prowess to "Spaceman." The miniseries garnered widespread acclaim for its gripping portrayal of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant explosion in 1986 and its aftermath.

Adam Sandler, known for his versatile roles, continues his collaboration with Netflix following the success of the coming-of-age comedy "You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah," a film that showcased his comedic talents alongside the charm of his daughters.
