In a devastating incident on Sunday, a woman and her eight children met a tragic end when the roof of their mud house collapsed due to a fire caused by a short-circuit in Tahari village, Abbotabad district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, as confirmed by officials, as reported by PTI.?

Rescue officials reported that locals discovered the nine bodies, including four daughters, amid the rubble of the collapsed structure. The ages of the victims remain unknown at this time.

Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Arshad Hussain, expressed deep grief and sorrow over the incident, extending prayers for the eternal peace of the departed souls.

As the community mourns the tragic loss, authorities are actively working to investigate the cause of the incident and ensure the safety of other residents in the area.

This unfortunate event echoes a similar tragedy in July when a deadly fire, caused by the explosion of a refrigerator compressor, claimed the lives of 10 members of the same family in Lahore's Bhati Gate area. The deceased included a man, his wife, two other women, five children, and a seven-month-old baby, with one family member managing to escape by jumping off the building. Officials confirmed that the lack of ventilation in the house contributed to the severity of the fire.
