The Agony Of Gaza's Children

As it often happens in conflict, children have emerged as the biggest sufferers of the ongoing war in Gaza. The latest figures released by the Hamas-run Gazan authorities say at least 8,796 have been killed in Israeli attacks, of whom at least 3,648 are children. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, almost half of whom are children, are sheltering in United Nations (UN) facilities and tents for refugees as they try to escape the fighting. As thousands of houses and several schools stand destroyed in the Israeli shelling, it's not just the present that's haunted, but also the future as these children would not have a house or a school to go back to once the war ends.
