In a significant call for peace, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path to resolve the Ukraine conflict. Addressing a two-day meeting hosted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, attended by top security officials from around 40 countries, Doval asserted that sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected by all states without exception.
Ajit Doval Advocates Dialogue For Peace In Ukraine Conflict At Jeddah Conference
Joined by top security officials from around 40 countries, the meeting, hosted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, sought ways to end the war in Ukraine while upholding principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity for all states.
Interestingly, Russia was not invited to the deliberations, indicating a deliberate effort to focus on finding solutions without the involvement of the major player in the conflict, as reported by PTI.
During the conference, India reaffirmed its active and willing partnership to seek a lasting and comprehensive resolution to the crisis. The Indian delegation highlighted the need for all peace efforts involving relevant stakeholders to be pursued to achieve a just and enduring solution. Doval stressed India's approach of promoting dialogue and diplomacy, as it remains the most viable path to lasting peace.
With multiple peace proposals on the table, the key question raised by the NSA is whether a solution acceptable to all parties involved can be achieved. The conference was centered around Ukraine's "peace plan," which includes holding those responsible for war crimes accountable, withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine, and the restoration of the country's territorial integrity.
India has consistently maintained its stance that the Ukraine crisis must be resolved through diplomatic means. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, urged for an end to the conflict, reiterating that the current era is not one of war.
As the conference concluded, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to all nations supporting the peace formula and joining in joint efforts for its implementation. The path towards a Global Peace Summit seems to be progressing step by step, with hopes for a fair and honest end to Russian aggression in Ukraine.
