Karan Johar Shares He Was ‘Shy’ Narrating Kiss Scene To Dharmendra, But Actor Said, ‘Problem Kya Hai’
Karan Johar said that he was initially awkward when narrating the kiss scene of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ to Dharmendra.
Talking about it, Karan revealed how he was “awkward” when he narrated the scene to Dharmendra, however, the legendary actor’s first reaction after listening to it was, “Toh problem kya hai? (So what is the problem?)” Karan added, “When I narrated it to him, I was a bit shy and awkward. Because he is such a senior actor. I have so much love and respect for him.” Karan shared further that when he told him that the scene culminates in a kiss, the actor reacted very plainly. “I took a beat and he said ‘Toh problem kya hai?’ (so what is the problem?). He said ‘Maine bahut kia hai’ (I have done this many times). I said "acha theek hai.”?
Karan further stated how the veteran actors were great performers but “everybody else around it had made a bigger deal out of it than them because they are true artists.”
Bobby Deol, reacting to the conversation, said that he found his father “magical”. He said, “Hum log mazak karte rehte hain ki Papa kiss viss bhi kar lete hain lekin sab log bolte hain, he is so cute. (We keep joking that Papa can kiss on screen and people will say he is so cute.)”?
When Karan asked Sunny about it, the ‘Gadar 2’ actor said, “I said my Dad can do whatever he likes and he gets away with it.” Bobby appreciated Dharmendra’s performance and said, “If there was some other actor playing my Dad’s role, it wouldn’t have worked.”
Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol have earlier appeared in the first season of ‘Koffee with Karan’.
