Ben Curran or Benjamin Jack Curran is the second son of former Zimbabwean cricketeer Kevin M Curran and the brother of English cricketers Sam and Tom. His grandfather, KP Curran, also played first class cricket in the colonial Zimbabwe.
Born in 1996 in England's Northamptonshire, Ben bats left-handed and can occasionally bowl off spin. A top order batter, Ben signed for Northamptonshire, his late father's club, in 2018. He made his debut in August 2018 in the T20 Blast and soon also made his first class debut in the same month.
For the 2021-22 season he played in the Logan Cup in Zimbabwe, the country where he grew up. In 2022, he was released from Northamptonshire and Zimbabwe became his cricketing home.
Ben currently averages in mid 30s in first class cricket and List A format. He looks likely to make his international debut against Afghanistan whose spinners will definitely make him work hard for runs. The three-match ODI series will start from December 17.
