Tickets for the opening day of the fourth Test of the between India and Australia at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground have sold out, highlighting the public's strong interest in the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy
"All available public tickets for Day 1 of the NRMA Insurance Boxing Day Test have been sold," Cricket Australia posted on their 'X' account on Tuesday.
"There will be a possible final release of a small number of public tickets on December 24 for non-members to get their seats," CA added.
The ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy series has seen a high demand amongst spectators from sets of fans, to flock the stadiums to watch the tense action between India and Australia.
The 2nd IND vs AUS Test at the Adelaide Oval saw a record-breaking crowd attend the first day. The stadium recorded over 36,000 fans at the Adelaide Oval, breaking a 12-year record at the same venue.

Speaking of the Boxing Day Test, India have featured in nine games, securing two historic victories, both coming against the Aussies Down Under - a 137-run win in 2018 and then a 8-wicket victory led by Ajinkya Rahane's inspiring century.

At the Adelaide Oval, controversy erupted on and off the field between the two nations. On it, Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj were fined and sanctioned by the ICC for their spat on field.
Off it, an Indian fan tried to display a sandpaper inside the stadium after which security officials handcuffed him and took him away.
The two rivals will head to the MCG for the Boxing Day Test, starting December 26 after the third Test in Brisbane starting Saturday.
The five-match series is currently level at 1-1 with Australia winning the second Test in Adelaide by 10 wickets.
