Madhya Pradesh: Missing BJP Leader Sana Khan Beaten To Death By Husband, Body Thrown In River

The accused, identified as?37-year-old Amit alias Pappu Sahu has been apprehended from Jabalpur's Gorabazar area on Friday in a joint operation involving Jabalpur police and Nagpur Police.

Jabalpur police on Saturday revealed that Sana Khan, the Minority Wing Chief of BJP's Maharashtra unit, who had been missing for the past week, was murdered by her husband. After running a joint operation with?Nagpur Police, they apprehended the accused, identified as??Amit alias Pappu Sahu from Jabalpur's Gorabazar area.

About the case

Investigation so far has revealed that the accused, Amit Shah was involved in a liquor smuggling business and ran a roadside eatery near Jabalpur.

The incident has taken place amid an ongoing dispute?between Sana and Pappu regarding financial transactions.

It has been reported that Sana had come from Nagpur to Jabalpur to meet Amit. During the meeting, a heated altercation ensued following which Amit struck Sana on the head, causing her death.

What did police say?

According to additional Superintendent of Police Kamal Maurya, the accused, identified as 37-year-old Amit Sahu Pappu, confessed during investigation?that he killed the victim, Sana Khan, who was his wife,?by hitting her with a stick in his house and later dumped her body in a river in the district.

"The accused said he killed his wife (Khan) by hitting her with a stick in his house and later threw her body into the Hiran river from a bridge near Meregaon village under Belkheda police station limits," he said.

A search operation is currently on to find the victim's body in the river and its nearby areas, Maurya said.

The police have also mentioned that another individual is involved in this case, and they are actively searching for this person. Currently, the police are interrogating the arrested suspect.
