3 Killed After IAF’s MIG-21 Crashes On Their Home In Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh

Rajasthan: The pilot of the fighter jet is said to be safe as he was able to jump from the aircraft using parachute on time, the officials have stated.

Three people were killed on Monday after an Indian Air Force MIG-21 fighter aircraft crashed on their home in Rajasthan, NDTV report said.

It said the tragedy was reported from Rajasthan's Hanumangarh.

The report quoting officials said the pilot jumped from the aircraft in time using a parachute.

It said the pilot of the place is safe.

It added the pilot suffered mionor injuries in the accident and that a probe has been ordered into the incident.

"A MiG-21 aircraft of the IAF crashed near Suratgarh during a routine training sortie today morning. The pilot ejected safely, sustaining minor injuries. An inquiry has been constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident," IAF said.

The report said police has launched rescue operation in the area where the aircraft had crashed.

"The pilot made all efforts to avert human casualties and crash-landed the plane on the outskirts of the village," the report quoted police official as having said.
